Publication Date: July 23, 2023

Genre: Romantic Comedy

The line of succession doesn’t always follow the flight plan…

Princess Natalie is the high-flying spare of the Lyons family. When her twin brother removes himself from the line of succession, she is thrust into the spotlight as the new heir apparent. Natalie must trade her flight suit and fast jets for diadems and diplomats.

As she comes to terms with her new calling, she struggles to adjust from military life all while supporting her brother’s transition as an out bisexual and civilian. Thanks to the support of her family and her confidante and courtier, Lucy, Natalie takes on her new job and finds her place in the world.

While she adjusts to her new life, she runs into an old flame, Edwin. The timing for them both is terrible. Her life is all business, and his family is complicated. Edwin is making his own pivot, having just retired from his career as an Olympic swimmer. Natalie cannot shake Edwin no matter how much she tries. Meanwhile, Edwin cannot resist her wit and bravery. Will they make it work?

Review:

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a fun rom-com to read.  I absolutely love Natalie her bond with with her twin brother Georgie and how she will do absolutely anything to protect him.  She gave up her dream of flying fighter jets for her family and country (which lets say a female flying fighter jets is really awesome you don’t get that often in books)

I also enjoyed that we got the back story on so many great characters.

This was a fast paced easy fun read and was very well written.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good rom-com.

Dark Escapes

Dark Escapes

By: Effie Campbell

My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Spice: πŸŒΆ️🌢️🌢️🌢️🌢️

Age Recommendation: 18+

Effie Campbell is a new to me author and I absolutely loved this book.  This was a spectacular Mafia story.  Esther this bratty Mafia princess the daughter of Malcom the leader of the McGowen family.  He had arranged her to marry Harold Thompson the man who killed her mother and her brother.  She does what any woman would do she fled to another country.  Alec was tasked at finding Esther and bringing her back to marry.

Esther proved to be more than just the spoiled brat Alec believe her to be making it very hard to find her and once he does she does everything she can to ruin every single one of his plans.  What he didn’t plan was to end up with more feelings for her than just annoyance.

The character development was wonderful and really transplants you into the story.  This book is very spicy but oh so good πŸ˜Š

I highly recommend.

How to Kiss your Enemy

 How to Kiss your Enemy

By: Jenny Proctor

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

About the book:

How is it possible for the chemistry between two chefs to be hotter than a ghost pepper yet colder than liquid nitrogen?

When THE Tatum Elliott shows up to run the catering kitchen at my family’s farm and event center, I don’t trust her anymore than I did back in culinary school.

But like it or not, she’s here. On my territory. My turf. In the kitchen that shares a building with my farm-to-table restaurant.

And she can’t seem to keep her hands off my parmesan.

Our old rivalry flares to life faster than a flambΓ©, but there’s something else flaming between us too. And it’s heating up quicker than anything we’re making in the kitchen.

But I can’t forget that Tatum is the daughter of Christopher Elliott—America’s most famous chef. She belongs in a big city, in a restaurant with her name on it. Not running the catering arm of Stonebrook Farm.

Whatever her reasons for being here now, I can’t see her permanently walking away from the fame and fortune her father can offer her, no matter how well she fits in on the farm—how well she fits with me.

She’ll leave eventually—I’m sure of it. I just have to make sure that when she does, she doesn’t take my heart with her.

It’s enemies to lovers foodie edition in this fast-paced, banter-filled romcom.

My Review:

How to Kiss your Enemy is a YA rom-com that I absolutely adored.  It was a quick easy read I adore the Hawthorne family and their dynamics with each other.

Tatum and Lennox have so much chemistry from the get go.  This is definitely a must read!

One of my favorite things about the book is Penelope the goat πŸ even though it’s very brief she definitely adds to the story and the golden doodle Toby!

Merritt and her Childhood Crush

Merritt and her Childhood Crush (Oakley Island Romcom #2)

By: Jenny Proctor and Emma St. Clair
Steam Level: πŸ”₯(kissing only)
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I received this story as an ARC for my honest review. Thank you @jennyproctorbooks for the opportunity.

She said she would never go back to Oakley Island…that is until Merritt Markham loses out on a promotion to her cheating ex-boyfriend. She decides to pack up her life and move back from New York to oversee the renovations of her late grandmother’s home that was left to her and her two other sisters Eloise and Sadie. She didn’t expect Hunter Williams the boy she loved as a young girl to be the contractor working on the house. Now she is having to face her past the pain from losing the first and only person she has ever loved.

I really loved this story; I enjoyed the dynamic between Merritt and Hunter they have a fun teasing banter that will make you smile. I would have enjoyed a little more steam, but I do enjoy that this book focuses more on the plot. They also touch on some tough subjects such as teen pregnancy, marrying too young and for the child, divorce, and co-parenting after divorce.

I loved that Hunter fostered wild animals and I really loved Banjo the Racoon he was a cute addition and had some cute parts. The only thing I would add is a little more steam but other than that I loved every bit of this book and cannot wait to read Sadie’s story.
